The SCSI (SmallComputer System Interface) interface of a laser printer is also known as a small computer system interface. The SCSI interface has the following features:

First, it is possible to connect 7 peripherals at the same time;
Second, the bus configuration is parallel 8 bits, 16 bits or 32 bits;
Third, the maximum hard disk space allowed is 8.4GB (some have reached 9.09GB);
Fourth, support higher data transfer rates, IDE is 2MB per second, SCSI can usually reach 5MB per second, FASTSCSI (SCSI-2) can reach 10MB per second, and the latest SCSI-3 can even reach 40MB per second. EIDE can only reach 16.6MB per second;
Fifth, the cost is much higher than the IDE and EIDE interfaces, and the SCSI interface hard disk must be used with the SCSI interface card. The SCSI interface card is also much more expensive than the IED and EIDE interfaces;
Sixth, the SCSI interface is intelligent and can communicate with each other without increasing the burden on the CPU. When transferring data between the IDE and the EIDE device, the CPU must intervene, and the SCSI device plays an active role in the data transfer process and can execute specifically inside the SCSI bus until the CPU is notified.
