The reason why the USB Type-C headphones is cold, besides high prices and less choice of styles, there are three reasons.
1.Samsung and Apple are not enthusiastic
Apple and Samsung have a 40% market share of mobile phone products. However, the devices of the two mobile phone manufacturers do not require USB Type-C. Although Apple's new iPhone has cut off the 3.5mm headphone jack, it uses its own charging interface for charging and data interfaces. Samsung also seems to have a bad impression on USB Type-C headphones. On its latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S9, the traditional headphone interface is still reserved. If Samsung also chooses to abandon the 3.5mm headphone jack, the situation may be very different, but For the time being, Samsung did not show such an intention.
2.Manufacturer cost increases with USB Type-C
For the manufacturer, any aspect that may increase the cost needs to be carefully considered. On the headset, if the USB Type-C interface is used, the cost will increase by 25%. This data is unbearable to any manufacturer. Also based on cost considerations, many headset manufacturers will still use the Micro USB charging interface when introducing wireless audio devices, and there are cost differences in data transmission and charging when using USB Type-C interface cables.
3.USB Type-C is not all universal
Although USB Type-C is now becoming a common interface standard, it does not actually provide perfect compatibility. Some USB-C ports support high-bandwidth Thunderbolt 3, but most of them cannot be satisfied; USB Type-C itself has different standards and specifications, and some Type-C cables can only be used as pure charging lines, but cannot be transmitted. data.
With the recent introduction of Type-C interface headsets, some manufacturers have different definitions of Type-C interfaces, which makes Type-C noise canceling headphones not as common as 3.5mm headphones. One is directly incompatible and purely useless; one is that music and noise reduction are available, but calls and buttons are not supported. Although the USB Type-C is very convenient, many manufacturers are moving toward the USB Type-C, but if the problems are not solved well, the USB Type-C still cannot be popularized.
