According to TechPowerUp, BizLink has announced that following the launch of the DP80 mDP cable in March 2022, the company has now released the world's first VESA-certified DP80 enhanced full-size DP cable, supporting 80Gbps of full-blooded transmission bandwidth.

BizLink full-size 80Gbps DP cable

According to officials news, BizLink's DP80 cable is certified for the latest version of DP technology and offers a maximum data throughput of up to 80 G/bps, compatible with the following specifications for new data rates per channel: UHBR10 (10Gbps), UHBR13.5 (13.5Gbps) and UHBR20 (20 G/bps). Three vendors receive official DP2.0 UHBR certification from VESA

VESA previously stated that cables supporting DP40 and DP80 standards for full-size DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort are now in production and the first displays and other devices have passed certification testing.

The DP40 cable will support the UHBR10 standard (10Gbps) on four channels, for a total of 40Gbps.

The DP80 cable will support the UHBR20 standard (20Gbps) on four channels, for a total of 80Gbps.

The new generation of graphics cards will support DP2.0 interface, which is already available on Intel's entry-level model, the Blue Halberd Razzle A380 graphics card, but at 40Gbps bandwidth. No monitor manufacturers have yet announced models with DP2.0 interfaces.

The DP2.0 specification, unveiled last June, offers a maximum bandwidth of 77.4 Gbps, nearly three times that of DP1.4, and allows for the transmission of video sources at 16K resolution (15360 x 8640), 60Hz and 30 colour depth (bpp) interface to convert to DP2.0 mode for the transfer of audio and video sources. The USB4 20 maximum bandwidth based on Thunderbolt 3 was also upgraded to 80Gbps, and the USB 80Gbps cable will have a separate certification label. The USB4 2.0 standard has been upgraded quite a bit this time, and it's actually called USB5 for all, but officially this time it's still very low-key, named USB4 2.0, and the biggest change is that the interface speed has been increased to 80Gbps. This is twice speed of Thunderbolt 4 and also upgrades to the fastest physical interface speed currently available. For the end user, the DP2.0 bandwidth advantage no longer exists, with the major data interfaces to 80Gbps development, so the next 8K will begin to be the mainstream. 8K era has officially arrived!
